Finally got on some decent snow this Saturday at Keystone. Conditions didn't suck, not much ice at all but some rock between bumps and off-trail.
Skied on demo Salomon Lords, 177cm. I liked them a lot. First time off thin skis. they held speed pretty well (i like to go fast) were good in the bumps, and made it laughably easy (by comparison) to ski switch. So I guess I'll be buying a pair all i need now is money. and a ski rack.
The ride home was horrendous I'm not sure if it was amatuer week or what but there was about 3" of snow and I70 slowed to a stop for miles and hours. so we waited it out at a friends condo that worked out ok. stopped at Jersey Boys in Dillon for some slices and an excellent stromboli.
Going back to Breck this weekend, maybe Vail. hopefully will start night-skiiing soon.
