Day 29 - Friday 2.19.10 - Keystone:  I played hooky today with Rory and we headed up to Keystone for some fun skiing!  Had lots of good turns and some great lunch up at the Outpost.  Snow in the Outback was good and the company was great!  We both had freshly tuned gear and at first the alpine skis were a little unstable but after three or four runs they leveled out and we got our groove on.  After skiing we headed over to the Dillon Damn Brewery in Dillon for an apres ski snack and then on to the LaQuinta (no joke) in Silverthorne to crash for the evening.  First on to the hot tubs and then off to "dinner."  There is an Old Chicago (why LaQuinta was selected) attached so we went down there for some "za" and Olympics watching.  The guys next to us were a mess and hysterical!

Day 30 - Saturday 2.20.10 - A Basin:  Rory and I woke up early and headed out to A Basin to be a bit closer to home and hit some new terrain this year.  We started with her being patient and helping me out with my tele turns.  After some several hours of good thigh burn we moved on to our Alpine gear and flew around for an coupe of hours exploring what was open - unfortunately not much as Montezuma Bowl's 400 acres were still bare.  It was still a fun day though and we capped it off with a GREAT Carolina pulled pork BBQ sandwich mid mountain before heading back to Denver for a great French 5280 dinner!

Day 31 - Wednesday 2.24.10 - A Basin:  After MUCH convincing I was able to get Jeff F. to take the day off work and play ski hooky with me!  Come on Jeffe - it was opening day at Montezuma Bowl - 400 new, untracked acres!  Well Jeff came through and we had a great day that turned in our favor against the forecast - computer icons said overcast but reality was a bluebird!  We skied for about 3 hours straight in the newly opened bowl and then and had a quick lunch on the tailgate.  After lunch we made a few more turns on the front side and actually practiced some box moves in the terrain park without too much bodily damage (pictures were not allowed - haha)!  Then I went and switched out to my tele gear to keep the muscle memory going and we made two runs with me working on my squats before I hit the deck hard on my pre-existing bruise (see day 27).  That was that so it was time to head back to Denver for happy hour! Jeff couldn't stop talking about how it was the best day of the year!
