Pitts and I headed up to Breck for a long weekend for hitting the snow and working on our turns and having epic apres times...here we go!

Day 14 - Friday 1.8.10 - Breckenridge:  Pitts and I started the day around 11 or so and linked up with Rory (a bit more than my gal pal) and her GF and started straight up Peak 9 going for whatever powder stashes we could - it was a lot of flying fast and just enjoying the bluebird day!  We separated from the gals (Rory's friend was visiting from out of town) and Pitts and I moved over to the T-Bar at Peak 8 and really had to deal with some open terrain + exposure to the elements!  It was a few mach speed runs through some great powder stashes but I must say - A few times I thought Pitts and I were going to get blown off the T-bar - though we didn't!  A great day for sure and then linked up with the rest of the team for some time at the "Maggie" at Peak 9 + lots of foose at Ullr's afterwards!  I think John broke his epically long 198s in the terrain park - we sure TRIED to hit some kickers late in the day!

Day 15 - Saturday 1.9.10 - Vail:  Parker and his GF showed up and the four of us (me and Pitts) headed to Vail - After John rented some sweet POW skis we headed from Lion's Head base area straight to Blue Sky Basin (BSB) for as much as the day would allow.  It was a long but beautiful trek - bare aspen groves, amazing vistas, and long, long cat-walks.  Eventually we made it there (Just me and John - Lost Parker and his GF along the way - sure they had fun too)!  John and I went straight down some runs to IRON MASK and dropped off the cliffs until we met our new best friend - KID ROCK!  We saw a BIG boulder with a POW stash under it and started taking turns hucking off of it - a few OK video clips but of course that never tells the true story...or does it?  Also we found our new favorite place at Belle's Camp at the outer most reaches of BSB for a quick sandwich out of the backpack and some H2O.  Next time I am bringing brats on a stick to grille at the public grills FOR SURE!  After all the "rock hucking" was done we flew down the hill in separate sorties and I had the BEST cup of pure hot chocolate EVER by suggestion of Rory!  We ended the day right where yesterday did as well - back at Ullr's for more foose back in Breck.

Day 16 - Sunday 1.4.10 - Breckenridge:  Everyone went home and it was just left to Pitts and I to see what we could pull off.  My friend-girl Liz met up with us for a few turns and we all did a few races down the NASTAR course and ended up with nothing but Bronze medals but it was a Blue Bird day so it didn't matter very much (I gotta figure out how to get faster for sure on the race course).  The most fun part of the day turned out to be hitting the bumps right under the Quicksilver Super Chair and there as an Action Sharp Shooters Photography right there...the fella (who know....maybe it was a gal) got some killer shots of us pounding the moguls!  We cruised in after a solid half day and then headed back to Denver for some R&R.
